Police recover assets in gold scam run by fake federal agent callers

Police in Friendswood, Texas, say an older resident was talked into handing over gift cards and gold bars by someone posing as a federal agent. Officers have made further arrests and say they have recovered more than $750,000 in assets. Any caller who claims to be an official and tells you to buy gold, cryptocurrency or gift cards is a red flag. If a caller like this contacts you, stop talking, hang up and tell your local police and a family member. QuietGuard keeps calls from people you have not named as trusted silent, though it cannot replace a chat with family or a call to the police.
